Leading the design efforts within the Unified Supply Chain product portfolio, my main focus has been Schedule AI. This addition to the Scheduling platform utilises Artificial Intelligence techniques to assist Schedulers in the generation of operationally viable and economically optimised plans for crude movements within a refinery. As the lead product designer my responsibilities have included:
• Engaging with expert users to understand the domain and user needs
• Translation of user needs into user journeys and interfaces
• Collaboration with software and AI engineers, advocating user needs throughout the technical development
• Prototyping and collaborating with front end developers on new features
• Working with the Product Manager to shape and communicate future product strategies
• Helping to improve the design-dev workflow
• Supporting the deployment and adoption of the new AVEVA Design System

My role at Cambridge Consultants focused on the design and development of data rich web platforms for, predominantly, enterprise clients. With the role of lead designer on a number of complex work programs my responsibilities included:

• Working with the Product Manager and Program Lead in prioritisation of work and requirements
• Training and mentorship of junior designers
• Communication of complex concepts to a wide range of audiences
• Creation of compelling and informative visualisations of complex data.
• Testing, iteration and refinement of designs
• Collaboration with engineers and scientists to understand and reconcile technical constraints with user needs
• Facilitation of a wide range of workshops
• Championing a user centred approach throughout our projects
